A thorough update to Gil’s 2004 book on short selling when he was with O’Neil. More focused on the mechanics and setups of short sale candidates then his earlier book, especially setup review on the daily timeframe. Lot’s of great ideas and some new ways of looking at price action “overlaps” of prior price support zones or moving average action zones. Highly recommended if you have an interest in doing the work to find these potential fast movers to the downside that would work well for end of day traders. At over 300 pages, you are given plenty of examples to emulate in your trading.

At last a good book about Short selling!, June 1, 2015

First things first , this book is not for beginners … it asumes you have some knowledge about patterns , volume , wyckoff or oneil method , etc … if you are new into trading you shouldn’t be learning about short selling . If you know something about trading but nothing of short selling I recommend : the new sell and sell short from alexander Elder … Actually I did not like A. Elder book but I realize that its a good intro to the subject . I took a start ONLY because there are too many typo mistakes , too many errors like dates or months when he is speaking about some charts , etc .. If editing were a bit better I would give this book 5 stars … the content is fantastic , the charts are clear … and it was about time that some one writes a good book about short selling! Thanks for the authors

Really disappointing book. Seeing it is claiming to be ONeil Disciples i was looking forward to an informative fundamental and technical analysis short selling strategies kind of like Oneils books in reverse. Rather the book is extremely light reading and really has no historical or fundamental and technical data to back it up. With today’s technology and resources a book making big claims (and coat tailing of a well known name) can easily produce sufficient evidence to provide its concept. All it takes is time and money and you can produce sufficient evidence and testing to prove concepts. This book only provides a hand full of charts that anyone can show and point out where they made (could have made) money. To add to the disappointed it is supposed to be co written by a Dr, and a BA degree i found the level of wording and structure and layout and most importantly the content the level of a teenager. In short the book seems to be either dumbed up. I bought the book expecting some original content. But that failed. My recommendation for the writers is for the next book put the effort in and write it up as you would a thesis and complete quality research and proof of concept. Their are enough rubbish books in this field without adding another one to the list. Very disappointed.
